In August 2017, I took a road trip from San Jose to Las Vegas, traveling through Yosemite and onto Mammoth before passing through Death Valley. It's always a challenge to find a composition in a place like Yosemite that hasn't been captured millions of times over, perhaps this has too, but I really like how Half Dome is framed by the trees on each side, the fallen tree trunk at the bottom and the sky above. In this image, the sky is actually enhanced by a forest fire and rain clouds which, despite it not being near sunset, created a similar effect.
